SPF recently participated in an activity – prompted by the Office of the Mayor of Victoria – to clean the streets of Seychelles’ capital city last weekend.
The activity – which took place over the weekend of the 28th/29th November – was a collaboration led by the Office of the Mayor of Victoria, with different government agencies, public enterprises and non-governmental organisations. SPF was invited by the Office of the Mayor of Victoria to participate, and subsequently assembled a team from its Maintenance Department to assist with the cleaning of one of its most well-known properties in town, Unity House, on Palm Street.
On a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon, the team thoroughly cleaned the road-facing side of Unity House, which included clearing the road of general waste, plastics, glass bottles and paper items, among other categories of litter. The team worked diligently – in spite of the treacherous weather conditions – and was keen to demonstrate their sense of civic duty to serve as responsible citizens and to keep Victoria clean.
SPF intends to participate in this activity as and when required, and would like to thank the Office of the Mayor of Victoria for the invitation to take part in this timely and crucial initiative.
