Boost Your Retirement, Your Way
The Voluntary Contribution (VC) scheme is a flexible savings option designed to help members enhance their retirement benefits. By making additional contributions on top of mandatory savings, members can grow their retirement package through annual compounded interest and enjoy greater financial security in later life.
Flexible Ways to Contribute
Members can choose the contribution method that suits them best:
- Direct payments at SPF counters
- Bank transfers
- E‑Contribution online platform
- Workplace salary deduction (the most popular option)
Workplace Salary Deduction Made Simple
Through a standing order, members may authorize their employer to deduct a fixed amount from their salary and remit it directly to their Voluntary Contribution account at SPF.
This arrangement is flexible— members may increase, decrease, or stop contributions at any time.
If a member changes employment and wishes to continue contributing through salary deduction, a new instruction form must be completed with the new employer.
Important Contribution Guidelines
- Any one‑time contribution exceeding SCR 50,000 must be accompanied by a KYC form.
- Contributions continue to earn annual compounded interest until maturity.
Accessing Your Savings
Voluntary Contributions mature at age 55. Upon maturity, members may access their savings through:
- Lump sum repayment, or
- Instalment payments
Members who receive a voluntary contribution refund may also choose to continue contributing until retirement and access the balance when submitting their pension application.
