The CEO of the Seychelles Pension Fund, Mrs. Lekha Nair, received the representatives of BBL World Actuaries, Mr Georges Langis and Mrs France Panneton in her office today to set the stage for the preparation of the Actuarial valuation of SPF.
Section 55 of the SPF Act 2005, provides for the Seychelles Pension Fund, at intervals of not more than 3 years, to conduct an actuarial investigation of its assets and liabilities by a Qualified and Approved Actuary.
The investigation will include the assessment of the overall valuation of the pension system to ensure that there are sufficient funds available, an assessment of the health of the SPF including making recommendations for appropriate contribution rates, providing a system of monitoring of the results of SPF’s future assumptions on matters including investment and mortality and recommend funding strategies.
