The contract agreement between Seychelles Pension Fund and Vijay Construction Ltd was signed yesterday morning at Caravelle House for the installation of piles for the foundation of the New Commercial Building at the ex Pirates Arm site. Work is expected to start on 1st December 2017 and terminate in mid-April 2018. The background work for this started in January 2017 where a geological survey and soil test had to be conducted in order to investigate the nature of the soil. This is a prerequisite exercise that had to be done
before designing the pile configuration and foundation work. The old foundation was excavated and removed later during the year. The main construction work is expected to start in May/June of 2018. The tender documents for the main construction work is being prepared at the moment.
