Seychelles Pension has embarked on a campaign to educate our members through HR professionals, to address challenges affecting its operations in terms of contributions and pensions and other related reporting challenges. The half day conference was held yesterday morning, Thursday 7th March 2024 at the STC conference room drawing over 75 participants from various sectors of the economy.
SPF emphasizes its commitment to continue to engage with HR and Payroll managers in order to educate them regarding the different updates of the new Membership and Contributions Regulations 2023. The meeting featured six presentations by SPF representatives covering discrepancies in the information submitted by payroll officers regarding pension reports, missing documents and incorrect inputs, submission of the correct documents for pension applications. Furthermore, the presentation highlighted an innovative scheme called the Match-it scheme encouraging employers to match employees’ voluntary contributions up to 8% that is tax exempted. This is an additional method of attracting, encouraging, retaining and rewarding employees and it also represents an interesting incentive for employees in this competitive and fluid labour market.
In conclusion, SPF aims that from this meeting we can foster collaboration and smoother information sharing amongst HR and payroll managers and other stakeholders.
